blizzard!

The snow looked beautiful yesterday but today it was awful! The wind had blown so hard that it blew huge snow drifts all over. Some spots were so bad that Jer got the car stuck several times today. I went out and we had to shovel together to get him out of our driveway this morning. Then some tractor plow guy came and shoved it all back! What a pain! I have a feeling our Halloween will be canceled tomorrow. Oh well, I have an idea to make our house fun and every room full of candy!

jack o lanterns!

Its carving time! I just love when the holidays come around. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are all my favorite! Brook was such a big girl and almost carved out her pumpkin all by herself. I helped Mason carve his Gobby. He kept calling it Gooby. :-) Jer did the headless horseman pumpkin head. It was such fun!

Leaves part 2

Of course when daddy came home, he had to join in the fun too! I got leaves on myself as well but I didn't take any pictures. haha!

Leaves!

Brooklyn was such a big girl today. She went outside and raked or swept the leaves. What a good helper.

I just love to see my kids play together.

My fix it man!

Apparently Mason thought that my belly needed to be fixed. lol! This little boy cracks me up!

Our first snow

I was naughty today and kept both kids out of school so we could play. I remember my mom doing this sometimes and those days were always so great! It was the first snow fall today and it was a wet snow. Perfect for making a snowman. Brooklyn was my master roller and Mason loved patting down the snow. It was such fun. Afterwards we made hot chocolate and got warm clothes on. Fun day!

This week's happenings.

This week we have had a pirate pillage our home (or cookie jar)...

Daddy was sick all week...

And we had our first snow!!!

Jer, way back when...

Look at that face! Too cute! Jer's sister Amanda sent me a few pictures from when they were little. I love to see these!

3D pics!

Here is our little boy at 27 weeks. I was amazed at how clear these pictures were compared to the 3D ultrasound I had 2 months ago. His umbilical cord kept sliding across his face. That is why we have the distortion.

Just an update...

11 weeks to GO!!!

Most babies this age, yours included, still like to snuggle in a slightly curled position inside the uterus (thus the term "fetal position"). Even so, beginning at this stage, your baby's length will be measured from top of head to toe — which makes your baby nearly a full 15 inches now. And at just over two pounds, he or she has doubled in weight from four weeks ago.
I just thought I'd post this since I am feeling so DONE. :-) Yay!

Calling all pumpkin pickers! I need your help!

Last year we were able to grow our own pumpkins, so picking them was not a problem. This year however, we were not allowed to have a garden and I miss that my kids could go pick their own pumpkins. Does anyone know where there is a pumpkin patch in North East Colorado? I do not want to resort to walmart pumpkins. Please help?

Baby taggie

I finally got it done. My friend makes these and I decided I really wanted to pick some fabric out and try it too. I was so surprised when I found this cute monkey fabric at Walmart along with the soft robe-like fabric for the underside. I will be able to attach baby toys or a pacifier to the tags if I want. It will be nice to only have to pick up one toy when dropped instead of a few all over. It will be nice for car rides. All in all it was a fun project. I'm glad I did it.

Cousins!

Cousin Ryan giving rides and playing with the kids.

Marta giving kisses to the mommy and Mason trying to sneak in on the action.

Jane dressed up as a dog. What a sweetheart she is.

Brook and Emma were inseparable. They had a ball!

I am just so thankful for family today. My cousin Ryan and his wife Jamie and their three adorable girls came for a visit. We talked, had great food and just brought back memories, most of them I had forgotten until today. The kids had a heck of a time. I thought my children were a little wild- like they always get around company. Ryan and Jamie live only an hour and forty five minutes away from us. I don't know why it took me so long to get together. I am looking forward to more visits and laughs in the future. Thanks guys for a very nice visit!

Picture Day!

I practiced on Brooklyn's hair the night before so I could figure out what I wanted to do with it. She got a big kick out of wearing my hot curlers. :-) I then hurried to get her ready the next day. I made sure to take a couple pictures of her all dressed up just in case her pictures didn't turn out. I couldn't be there at school for her to make sure everything went well because I had my OB appointment at the same time. From what her teacher told me, Brook was one of the first to get pictures done so she managed to keep her hair nice at least until afterwards. Thank goodness. whew!

Baby update...

Today I was at the Doctor's Office for 4 hours! First, I got there at 9am when my appointment was at 9:45. I didn't get in until 10 or10:30. Dr. Soriano checked his heart beat. Mason thought it was a choo choo. ha ha! It was great. My blood pressure was great as well. I guess the best news to me is that I only gained back 2 lbs from the 8 that I lost early on. YAY! I had to drink that nasty glucose test drink and wait an hour before they could take my blood and give me my rhogam shot. Fun! I am pretty proud of my Mason. He sat very well and played pretty quietly the whole time. He even shared his cheese-it crackers with a little Hispanic girl that stayed with us in the lobby while her mommy got blood drawn. What a sweet little flirt! I did get to schedule my free 3D ultrasound for October 20th! Hope it comes out a lot more clear than the one from Denver turned out.

my firefighters

My kids have had fire safety week this week. They crack me up with their stop, drop and roll practices! So funny!

A terrible citizen...

I saw a minor accident this morning. I was on my way to drop Mason off at preschool. I slowed down to see if the teenager in his sporty car would turn around to take care of business and he did so I continued on my way. I felt really guilty for not stopping though. I am a bad citizen! :o)

Our finished baby sling

This is our baby's sling. I made it out of fleece because he is due this winter. It is very soft and warm. I chose a pirate theme even though the lady at the counter thought that was an "interesting" choice. Sorry I am just not big into the traditional pastel baby patterns and colors. Plus, with this even daddy will wear it! :o)

General Conference...

I love Conference time! I feel so ready to go out and do better.

Some of my favorite talks were...

Richard G. Scott on Saturday- How today's world makes us rely on the Spirit more.

David A. Bednar talked about our homes and how we need to be more diligent and concerned at home. To tell each other I love you more. I especially liked when he said it doesn't matter if we get our scripture reading and prayers done perfectly without children fighting as long as we are consistent. That really helped put things in perspective especially with our energetic, lovable ADD kids. ha ha:o)

It seemed like a lot of Sunday's talks were focused on loving one another and serving each other. That is what the Prophet Thomas S. Monson concluded with. He said Serve one another. Serving is man's greatest happiness. It made me want to do a warm fuzzy jar with the kids. Every time they do something nice for someone or each other, they get a warm fuzzy.

Home made bread!

More evidence of my "nesting" as my friend explained to me. Its funny, I don't remember nesting this much with either Brooklyn or Mason. Oh well. Jer isn't complaining. haha! Brooklyn was so funny. She was absolutely mesmerized by the bread machine. She kept wanting to she how it was doing every couple minutes.

My obsession lately...

All things baked. I've been watching a lot of food network lately. I feel like making almost everything I see. What is happening to me lately?!
