Class ghost towns!

Every year at Halloween, the school does a special project at YW. This year kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades all made ghost towns. They all worked really hard and whoever gets the most votes win a special pizza party. Brooklyn and Mason did such a good job with their projects. I am so proud of them!

Happy Halloween Everybody!

Carving pumpkins!

We finally carved pumpkins! Brooklyn made a vampire bat. Mason made a ghost. Dallas helped daddy make a spooky face and I made a creepy hand.
The pumpkins were so huge that we had to stick our arms all the way into them at some points. It was kind of gross. I just love these traditions at Halloween time!

Dance Class for Brooklyn!

Well we finally put Brooklyn into dance classes. My friend Janae and I put her daughter and Brook in a class together. We thought it would work out if we switched off driving since it was 30 minutes away in Fort Morgan.

Janae and I just died laughing the 1st class because Brooklyn and Mckenna were the oldest ones there. All of the rest of the girls were these little tiny 3-4 year olds. It was hilarious to watch them have to dance the chicken dance and do tumbles with all these little ones.

We decided to try another class on a different day that at least had more 7 year olds in it. Janae said it was much better.

They are able to do tap dancing for half of the class and then gymnastics for the second part. Brooklyn is loving it so far! She didn't even mind doing it with the little girls. I think she is just so happy to be doing anything. I'm sure glad she isn't easily embarrassed. hehe!

They have a big recital June 1st and the girls are so excited to get their super cute costumes ordered here soon!

It has been so nice to do something really girly and fun just us girls!

Greeley Stake Activity Girls!

This Saturday was Brooklyn's first Stake activity girls activity! The Theme was "I Am a Star Shining Brightly". There were more than 100 girls there. With 5 different groups, they rotated different classes such as:
Journal class
"Love Who You Are"
Scriptures
Exercise/Dance
Healthy snacks

The Stake President was the Keynote speaker and at the end, they all learned the song "Every Star is Different" from the children's songbook.

All the girls had a blast and they got to make many take home mementos from some of the classes. Brooklyn sure loved the activity and I hope the girls will be excited for next year's activity as well!

Adventures With Hair!

I don't even know why I try to change things up. Earlier this week, I tried to give myself highlights. They just didn't turn out the way I imagined they would. I wanted something warm and honey and what I got was pee yellow! So back to good old chestnut brown and it feels so much better!

Pope Farms!

Friday the 19th the kids had school off so Jer and I took them to Pope Farms in Wiggins.

It was the first time the kids and I have ever been to a pumpkin patch. This pumpkin patch was really fun. They had the patch, corn maze, kiddie maze, jumping pillow, spider web, corn shooter, duck racing, a corn silo and hay ride. We sure had fun and the kids loved picking out their own pumpkin!

Back to School!

Well after 2+ years of schooling online, we have decided to put the kids back into school. It has been difficult since this school year began. I became increasingly overwhelmed and just did not feel like the kids were able to learn as well as they had the previous year. I was constantly stopping to make sure Dallas (monster) wasn't getting into anything. I would feel like I was giving one or the other child most of my focus but I just couldn't give them both the focus they deserved at the same time. Plus, the amount of school work was insane for two full time students and a toddler. My home suffered, and so did my patience.

It is crazy how relieved I felt as soon as I registered them back into school. At the same time I felt like such a failure and quitter. I know it was just me putting too much onto myself because the kids have been rock stars! They just roll with the punches. If I had chosen to keep them at home longer, they would have been so willing to do that.

As it is, they are so excited to be back at school. I dropped them both off today and Brooklyn was immediately surrounded by a bunch of her old classmates who each hugged her and asked if she remembers them. A few moms gave me big grins and asked if we were back. I had to stop myself from thinking negatively about how they were probably judging me because I know they were just being sweet.

We made it through today and both kids had a wonderful day! I was happy to realize that I do have more time now, Even though I don't quite know what to do with it yet.

Jeremiah and I took Dallas out to lunch at our local sandwich place Coldstone. That was a treat!

Family Photo Shoot!

Our last family photo shoot was before our silly Dallas was born. We sure did have fun taking pictures with our crazy kiddos! They are getting so big. I think it was about time for an update. It is amazing what you can do with a tripod!

Halloween Decorations!

I am very excited this year for the Holidays! It will be our 1st year in our very own home.
It seems like I have always put off really decorating because we would just have to move it one day.

Brooklyn helped me decorate our front porch window! I made this wreath and I made it so I could change the ribbon out for the holidays or seasons.

Hopefully this is just the beginning!
